Sister Glitz

Sox Knockin' Rock

Sister Glitz is a real live artifact of the early rock’n’roll era, her subject of expertise. Marked in the womb by parents who listened to the rollicking gospel sounds of the Reverend Baby Perry on the radio, and born into a home with hot Big Band music playing on the hi-fi, she discovered for herself the first sounds of rock’n’roll to hit the airwaves. That was when she was still small enough to think she might be able to crawl into that old console on the living room floor and follow the sound that had grabbed her by the scruff of the neck. To this day, that sound has never let go of its hold on her. She has learned to create the sound in her own way, singing and blowing sax in the band called Fits of Passion. All her life she has studied the mystery of what makes rock’n’roll rock, or roll, or both. Professionally trained in the areas of both teaching and research, she is the perfect medium to unravel the mysteries of rock’n’roll for her radio listeners.
